Central Coast had a very successful weekend in Tamworth at the NSW Country Championships for Seniors, Colts & Women, although the Zone won no Championships.
The Senior team finished third in the Championships. They lost to Illawarra 21-17 in a very close match in the semifinal and then defeated Mid North Coast by 31 points to 25. They team remains in the top tier of the Caldwell Cup in 2020.
The Colts team and the Womens teams both made their respective Finals but lost both. The Colts defeated Far North Coast, Central West and Central North to reach the Final. They lost the Final to Newcastle by 9 points to 3. It was so close to a major victory.
The Womens team defeated Mid North Coast and Newcastle to reach the Final. They lost this Final to Central West by 31 points to 0.
So to summarise the Seniors came third, and the Colts and Womens were runners up. It was a very successful Championships for the Central Coast. The Zone got so close to winning their respective titles but it was not to be.
