The WLG Premier 1 resumed on Saturday 26th April. A special occasion for all clubs who participated in an ANZAC ceremony. Footage from the Terrigal vs Avoca Beach ANZAC ceremony can be rewatched on NSW Rugby TV. Thank you to all who facilitated the service.
Terrigal 37 – Avoca Beach 7
Terrigal continued their winning ways with a 30-point victory over beach rivals Avoca with a clinical and dominant display. Their structure and control around the park proved too much, as they crossed for multiple well-constructed tries to secure a statement win. The front row of Terrigal will be pleased with their efforts as they controlled proceedings for Terrigal in the earlier passages of the game. This allowed Terrigal to expand their game in spades through the latter part of the fixture. Jayden Woolley’s goal kicking ensured the hosts edged further away in the second half which saw them get home comfortably. Congratulations to Josh Parish who played his 50th game for Avoca Beach. Josh was the sole try scorer for the visitors in the ANZAC day clash.
Gosford/Kariong 14 – Lake Macquarie 67
Lake Macquarie delivered another blistering performance, running in a flurry of tries in a commanding win over Gosford/Kariong. A true team effort, the tries were spread across the park, reflecting their depth and attacking flair. They continue to look dangerous as the season progresses. Rameo Bainivalu managed to cross for his first hat-trick of the season. Gosford showed late promise in the second half, but the damage was done in the first 50 mins of the match.
Warnervale 24 – Woy Woy 19
In a tight and hard-fought contest, Warnervale held off a spirited Woy Woy side to register their first win of the season. The match was a genuine tussle from start to finish, with momentum swinging both ways, but Warnervale’s grit in the final stages saw them clinch a crucial five-point victory. After two heavy defeats, Warnervale will be joyed with a win, which will hopefully lift spirits internally at Woongarrah. Woy Woy will look to return to a winning formula when they take on Avoca Beach next week at Woy Woy Oval.
Razorbacks 46 – Northlakes/The Bay 5
The Razorbacks extended their unbeaten run with another powerful victory, brushing aside Northlakes/The Bay to remain on top of the ladder. Leading the charge once again was Jake Hubbard, who bagged another hat trick—cementing his place at the top of the Premier 1 try-scoring leaderboard after three rounds. Northlakes/The Bay have had opportunities in the opening rounds but remain winless. The team has the skill and creativity to turn their season around quickly.
