REPORT :
One grade commenced their season last Saturday, when all three Women’s 10’s matches took to the paddock at Slade Park.
Avoca Beach started their season very strongly when they accounted for Hornsby by 25 points to 14. The reigning Premiers showed they will be a threat again this season and the Hornsby outfit saw them as too strong on the day. Avoca Beach ran in 5 tries to 2 and this fact was a true indication of the flow of the match. Avoca Beach’s Summer Witt was able to cross for two of these tries, while Callie Morris shown for Hornsby.
Terrigal proved far too strong for The Lakes and ran out easy victors by 50 points to nil. The Lakes gave it their all but were no match for the strong Terrigal team on the day. The stars for the Terrigal team were Sian George, Shenay Ball and Hali Shiach-Scott who all scored doubles on the day.
Razorbacks recorded a 28 points to nil win in the other fixture. Woy Woy could not field a full team for this match but they will be ready to go in a fortnight at Woy Woy Oval.
Warnervale had the bye on the day.
